I am honoured to be elected as the next
President of the Human Resources Association. I am well aware of
the trust that has been placed in me to lead our Association toward
better and more creative accomplishments during the next two
years.
As with all great organizations, they are
built on the hard work, dedication and tireless efforts of so many.
I am very fortunate to have an executive team who are all of that
and more. Together we will work toward building on the wonderful
accomplishments of my predecessor, with a continued focus on being
able to provide you with the best of resources, great service,
networking capabilities and professional development opportunities
that will enhance YOU as an HR professional.
Over the years we have seen our Organization
change and grow. It has caused us on numerous occasions to pause
and reflect on where we needed to go and what we need to become in
order to be value-added to you, our members. We have drawn on the
expertise of our executive and solicited your feedback periodically
to help us move in the right directions. We are now poised to move
again as we experience continued growth (we are now over 1000
members, province —wide), and recognize the on-going
importance for us to remain open to making changes that will meet
your needs.
This year, we are in the process of
re-designing our web site and will have a new Association logo to
show you, which will be indicative of how we have changed and
grown. We heard from you over the last several years (and we
listened) to your comments, that our web site was not interactive
enough, nor did it offer enough information for you. So, we
undertook a process to select a vendor who would work with us to
design a new web site intended to meet today’s needs and be
capable of responding to our future needs as we move forward in the
coming years. We are very excited to show you what that looks like
in a couple of months and we hope you will like it enough to use it
more frequently!
As an Organization experiencing continued
growth, we will also re-visit our strategic planning process to
determine key priorities and initiatives which we will focus on
during the next two years and possibly beyond. We will be
undertaking that process shortly.
In the meantime, my Executive team and I
wish all of you continued success throughout the coming year. Do
great work, have lots of fun and maintain good balance.
Sincerely,

Frances E. White, CHRP
