The HR Representative supports general human resources activities within an assigned Business Area while navigating the complexities of a National and Global organization. Specifically, in the area of employee relations, performance and attendance management, progressive discipline management, career development, compensation administration, and headcount plan management.
In addition, the HR Representative will also be responsible for specific project or initiative deliverables as required.
Key responsibilities may include:
• Acts as a key contact for line management within a call center environment, dealing with a broad range of human resources and employee relations matters.
• Provides Human Resources advice, counsel and coaching to line management for assigned responsibility area(s); participates in HR planning and organizational change initiatives; provides HR expertise in identifying and developing recommendations to resolve HR, organization or change related problems; participates in the implementation of approved recommendations.
• Fosters a positive employee relations environment by participating in discussions with line management: identifies opportunities for positive and cooperative change/improvements; participates in implementing change processes.
• Guides line managers in dealing with employee relations, equity or various rights related questions by researching issues, consulting employee relations or other support specialists; works with managers, affected employees to resolve complaints or other issues through to successful conclusion; manages and conducts investigations and consults with HR Team Lead/HR Manager and Employee Relations Specialist on difficult cases; may act as a witness at related hearings.
• Ensures consistent application of Human Resources policies and procedures, salary administration, performance, benefit and other plans and programs, etc., through discussion and explanations with managers and other staff.
• Participates and champions the roll-out, implementation and sustainment of Human Resources projects and initiatives within assigned Business Area and Company wide, when required.
• Develops and conducts human resources presentations, training or orientation sessions; monitors implementation results and contributes to continuous improvement initiatives; works with consultants or seconded staff providing assistance on projects.
• Researching/reporting HR metrics (attrition, retention, trend analysis through headcount and exit data )
• Assisting with technical questions in on-going performance feedback processes
• Human Resources Degree/Diploma or related university degree or equivalent.
• Minimum 4 years progressive generalist human resources experience. 2 years min in a call center environment.
• Must have Employee Relations experience.
• CHRP or working towards CHRP designation is an asset
• HR experience in an IT/Outsourcing Environment
Qualifications: Knowledge / Job Specific Competencies:
• Knowledge of Human Resources core concepts, core processes, procedures and policies.
• Understanding of operation environment to allow for HR to act as the business partner when working through areas such as attendance management and training.
• Demonstrated and applied ability interpreting and applying Provincial Employment Standards, Human Rights and Privacy Acts and Legislation.
• Demonstrated ability establishing personal and professional credibility with clients/customers and other stakeholders.
• Ability to execute role while adhering to data privacy and confidentiality guidelines
• General knowledge of Technical systems (General HR systems )
• Working & applied knowledge of technical systems (Microsoft Applications)
